Enjoyable Stay- May 2018
Arrived on a Sunday afternoon to an efficient and polite receptionist who explained everything we needed to know. Our room (21) overlooked the 18th tee and was of a very good standard with a lovely bathroom and French doors opening on to a small seating area outside, We had booked a ‘deal’ which included bubbly and chocolates which was already in our room presented well in an ice bucket. We ate in the bar area that evening and the staff were polite and the food tasty. We used the gym the following morning and it was well equipped and tidy, then it was breakfast of haddock and poached egg for myself (very nice to) and porridge for the boss which I was told was superb. Didn’t play golf but walked part of the course and it looked in good condition and well maintained. All in all a really nice stay for a good price and will return later in the year and hopefully play golf as well as enjoy the hotel
We didn’t stay in the hotel .We had a house guest and I didn’t want to spend Sunday in the kitchen. Being swayed by an ad on local radio off we went to The Lanhydrock Hotel. A busy happy place with staff that smile and joke with you. A great choice of Roast meats, one fish option and a veggie option. Fluffy roast potatos with the usual sunday dinner vegetable fayre. I will be going again. I may give up cooking on a Sunday forever.
Excellent Find- 15th May 2018
A late addition to a long planned golf trip to Cornwall. And an excellent one. Nice, modern hotel with all the amenities one needs. Golf course was in tremendous condition and I doubt there’s a better parkland course in Cornwall. Makes you think constantly which is how golf should be. A special mention for the staff. Without exception they were friendly, personable and went out of their way to accommodate our various needs. Breakfast saw most of our group through the day and was well managed by the team on duty who also showed a great sense of humour – all helping reinforce the impression we were right to add it to our itinerary and will return.
“It was an excellent day enjoyed by all my team and the hospitality was tremendous. I would like to pass on my gratitude to yourself and the rest of your staff for making it possible.”
“I have just returned from staying a few days at your hotel and before I fail to do so I must congratulate you on the very high standard of Staff you employ & presumably train in their various positions. Every level of Staff I had contact with were most pleasant and helpful, always assisted with a smile and demonstrated a genuine interest in making my stay with you a very pleasurable experience. I wish my home was a lot closer so that I and my friends might experience your fine hostelry more often. Thank you.”
“I thought it would be good to say how pleased I was to enjoy an excellent meal (Salmon and the Risotto) with my parents in your Bistro. There was a wedding on at the time as well, and the person who took our booking very sensibly advised us about it; in the event it only added to the entertainment. Gemma organised the service really well, the food was well prepared and served, and the surroundings (with the glorious sunset) really quite spectacular. It was also great value for money, and I will be recommending it to all our friends who come down.”
“It was an excellent occasion. The reception, the food and entertainment made it an all round fabulous ending to the Year.”
“Congratulations on organising such a splendid celebration.”
“May I take this opportunity to Thank You both most sincerely for the outstanding Corporate Golf Day that you kindly provided for us all at Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Course on Tuesday the 5 May 2009. Would you please be as kind to pass on sincere appreciation to everyone of your Staff, we look forward to seeing you in the near future, you are a real ‘Class Act’ that is for certain.”
