Whether you’re a complete novice looking to take up a new sport or once played in years gone by, we would like to unveil Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club’s Golf Academy!

The Academy has been designed to inspire people to get involved in the game, and show everyone that learning to play golf is not only great fun, it’s fantastic for your health and can be enjoyed at all ages – whether playing alone or with family and friends.

Our new Golf Academy Membership caters to adults who are either new to golf or are returning to the sport, and includes a comprehensive package of both group and individual lessons led by our Head PGA Professional, Alister Tawse. 

Two of the key roles of a PGA professional is to help established players improve their game and also introduce new people into the sport. Nothing gives Alister and his team more pleasure than seeing beginners progress into new members here at Lanhydrock. With our fantastic driving range that includes a designated teaching studio – it really is the ideal facility to facilitate our new Golf Academy.

Alister Tawse commented, “It’s all about igniting a passion for the sport – from mastering the technicalities of the swing to perfecting your posture, we will cover it all! We are proud that our new Academy is attracting people to or back to golf, welcoming them into the vibrant golfing community we have here at Lanhydrock.”

Our team is dedicated to helping you enjoy better golf. For some, this will involve reducing your handicap to the lowest it’s ever been, whilst for others it’ll be about giving you the confidence to enjoy your time on the course with friends. Whatever you want from this game, we’re here to help every step (and swing!) of the way. 

Golf Academy membership includes a comprehensive package of both group and individual lessons led by our Head PGA Professional, Alister. Within the package, players can also enjoy access to the golf course during off-peak times for nine-hole rounds. The one-year associate membership aims to acquaint you with the game, enhance your abilities, and most importantly, provide a fun social setting here at Lanhydrock. The yearly cost of the Academy is £600.

It’s all about inspiring people from every walk of life to give the sport a try. There are countless positive benefits to playing golf – providing a stimulating mental challenge combined with a healthy walk in beautiful Cornish surroundings – and can be played by people of all abilities and ages. 

Here at Lanhydrock, we have one of the most fun and interesting golf courses to play in the South West. At 6,100 yards, it is modest in length compared to other modern courses, but still provides a challenge for all standards of golfers. The course is exceptionally well laid out with mature trees lining the fairways and some great water features.
