Celebration Of Life Venue – Funeral Reception

A funeral reception or wake is a celebration of life, an opportunity for friends and family to come together to pay their respects to a loved one, and traditionally follows the funeral service itself.

We thought it would be helpful to put together a blog to outline how we can support you in marking the end of a life. We know it can be a very emotional and stressful time, but we can assure you that, as a family business with over 30 years of experience, Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club is the perfect venue choice.

Having lost someone special, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed as you wonder what to do first. Clare and the team at Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club will be on hand to support you, with sensitivity and compassion from the very first conversation, as you navigate this challenging time.

“We had a small, family funeral and took our group of friends and family back to Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club afterwards for brunch. We were a small group and didn’t spend a fortune, but we were looked after incredibly well – with great understanding and care. The team at Lanhydrock took the time to find out what we needed and went out of their way to deliver it – a great space, lovely food and a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and I highly recommend Lanhydrock.”

“Just a quick message following our event with you today to say thank you. It was more perfect than I could have hoped for, a day my Dad would have loved. Thank you to the team for taking care of us.”

“We needed a good venue for family, friends and colleagues of my late father to meet after his funeral at Glynn Valley Crematorium. We could not have been looked after better by Annie and the staff at Lanhydrock. Nothing was too much trouble to arrange, whether it was changing numbers, arranging for a string quartet to play, or having flowers and photographs put up for people to look at. Everything was done with the minimum of fuss and ready for when we arrived. The food was outstanding. Many people commented on how generous the quantities were, and just the right sort of food for this occasion. It was also convenient to have the bar next door, so that anyone who didn’t want the tea and coffee served as we arrived, was able to organise their own drinks. Of course, the views were outstanding. All in all – I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue for anyone. In our case, following a family funeral, it was exactly what we needed. 110% approval from us all. We will be coming back to try the venue as a restaurant……”
