Rainy Day Activities
Have an adventure to experience Cornwall’s marine life on board a RIB trip with Padstow Sealife Safaris! Picking up the speed as we travel along the stunning Cornish coastline, we search areas where we may encounter wildlife such as seals, seabirds, dolphins, porpoises and whales, stopping to enjoy any wildlife that pops up. With a highly experienced skipper and a knowledgeable guide on board, you’ll be in safe hands and learn a lot along the way.
Housetrap Escape Rooms, Bodmin (and Indian Queens)
With their ever growing popularity, it’s no wonder that Escape Rooms have made it to Cornwall! Perfect for competitive families, group outings, and stag and hen dos, can you solve the puzzles and make it out in 60 minutes? Our favourite is Housetrap Escape Rooms which is located only 2 miles away from us. They have 2 rooms: Seance (over 18’s) and Aquarium (suitable for all). If you want to branch out a little further they have another 2 rooms at Indian Queens: Tumbleweed (think the Wild West!) and Abducted.
Get a taste of Cornwall’s mining history with a tour through these underground caves. There are three huge caverns to explore, and there’s even a stunning Subterranean Lake with crystal clear waters at the end. Keep a look out for events in the summer; they host comedy nights, live music gigs and lots of different shows – a unique Cornish experience!
Trerice House and Gardens, Newquay
If you’re looking for a tranquil day out, step back in time with a visit to Trerice House and Gardens. You can explore the ornate decor and beautiful features of this Elizabethan heritage property before taking a stroll around the grounds. There’s a shop, second-hand book store and restaurant on site.
Sister establishment of the famous Tate Modern in London, The Tate in St Ives is perfect place to marvel at artwork, with local Cornish pieces as well as national works on display. The gallery sits just above the magnificent surfing beach of Porthmeor and is walking distance from the town if you’re keen to explore more of the area whilst you’re there.
We guarantee that this place is unlike any garden centre you’ve been to before…Over the past few years, the Potager Garden team have transformed what was an abandoned plant nursery into a vibrant eco-space. As well as hosting events and workshops, it’s also home to the Glasshouse Café, a gorgeous greenhouse-style setting which doesn’t have a set menu as it serves seasonal meals made from the produce grown in the gardens.
