A Valentine's message from Seve!

We are all loved up here at Lanhydrock, red roses and soft lighting with candles everywhere, totally yuck! Heart shaped this and aphrodisiac that, all the double beds were full on Saturday night and only a few left for Valentines night which is really today, Tuesday! Looking forward to some doggy chocs for me too, little chance though, as “her ladyship” still has me on the news years diet. “Fat lab” is my nick-name, how rude. Could think of a few names myself, not all diets around here are working might I say!

I shall need some extra cuddles over the next few weeks, my canine girlfriend is away for 5 weeks, staying in a cage at her grandparents home whilst the family swan it in Oz. She’s a good-looking posh cross (Heinz 57), bit of lurcher, bit of deerhound, quite a looker, gives me a run for my money. Will miss her so hoping that the lady visitors will take pity and tickle my tummy as they pass my bed near reception. That’s if they’re not Valentined out.

Wedding Fayre next weekend, I’m on duty, meeting, sniffing and greeting as usual from 11am until 4pm. Great entertainment for the kids I am, “bomb proof” I hear them say about me. I only behave so I can hoover up the crumbs of canapés when they’ve gone. You know how I love smoked salmon, my all time fave food. Praying that the chocolate fountain lady goes AWOL and I can sneak in and grab a dribble. Remember the scene from the Vicar of Dibley!

Then there’s the hope of wedding cake crumbs too! Can’t wait for Sunday.

Who says chocolate and cake is bad for dogs?
